Most IT firms started as IT firms. We started on a production line. Cybertron International, Inc. has been designing, building, testing, and supporting custom PCs and servers in Wichita since 1997, and the systems our CybertronPC and CLX divisions build have shipped to customers across North America for decades. CybertronIT is what happened when the businesses buying our hardware kept asking the same question: can you run the rest of it too?
So we do. Today CybertronIT runs Managed IT Services, cybersecurity, and compliance programs for small and mid-sized businesses across Wichita and Southcentral Kansas, with the manufacturing line still running a few doors down. That combination shapes everything about how we work. When your IT provider has also sourced components through a global supply chain, carried inventory, met a production deadline, and stood behind a warranty, the advice you get sounds different. It comes from a company that has to live with the same decisions you do.
Where we came from
The hardware came first. CybertronPC grew from a local builder into a national manufacturer, a run the press documented as it happened: the Wichita Eagle covered our move into a larger facility in 2010, Forbes and CNET covered the launch and benchmarking of our CLX line in 2016, PCWorld covered a CybertronPC machine built around full desktop hardware the same year, and the Wichita Eagle named us a Small Business of the Year nominee. In 2012 the Wichita Business Journal reported our acquisition of a local IT services firm, the start of the managed services practice that became CybertronIT, and in 2015 the company took home a Best Tech Award.
That history matters to a buyer for one practical reason. IT providers come and go, and every owner has heard a pitch from a firm that was three people and a logo the year before. We’ve been building and supporting technology in this city under the same ownership for nearly three decades, from the same part of town, with our name on the building.
What we run today
The working core is Managed IT Services: devices, servers, network, cloud, identity, patching, backups, vendor management, and day-to-day support, run against documented service levels. On top of that sits the compliance practice, CMMC and NIST 800-171 for defense suppliers, HIPAA for medical and dental practices, the FTC Safeguards Rule for accounting and finance firms, with the documentation and the live systems owned by one team. Around Wichita
We’re from here, and it shows up in more than the address. We’ve supplied Wichita State University with high-performance computing, including the systems behind its nationally ranked esports program and gaming lab. We established the KMUW Technology Fund in 2018 to support public radio in our city, and our team has shown up everywhere from KMUW’s studios to the Kansas State Fair to talk about technology with the people who use it.
